Join us for our first Friday Morning Assembly of the year. Dr. Narro will introduce all of our teachers and staff members, Mrs. Thompson will share some wellness information, our Tk/K teachers will present a skit and school song, etc. Join us each week to hear about upcoming events, the latest news and so much more.

hello roadrunners Welcome to our first virtual assembly of the 2020-2021 school year we find found in the spring that many of you enjoyed coming to our assemblies as part of our rituals it's a time for import message has a time to come together as a community and a time to laugh and sing this year we are aiming to make our assemblies bigger and better of course every Friday will still meet together to recite the pledge announcements Here song Sun guess it riddles and laugh at jokes please wear your spirit t-shirts and send me a picture of yourself watching but our goal is to expand the content of assembly so along what are traditional components we want to have a lot of participation from our students in our newsletter we will let you know how you too can become involved we will also expand the content and have a different Focus each month if we come together don't get to celebrate contributions from many people and hear stories and poetry from diverse authors today we will kick off our year with the following the pledge are Monterey Hill song Wellness practices you'll be introduced to our staff a special thanks to miss Torres this is Landau and as well as mrs. Thompson and of course alumni Kaden King we will enter assembly with a community building I want to thank Mr Lopez my video editor for putting the show together are you ready let's begin and now we have our student body president from 2019-2020 school year to lead us in the plan please stand face the flag put your right hand over your heart I pledge allegiance to the flag of united give America into the Republic for which it stands one nation under God to another classroom this is Landau Justice for us you know what I'm going to really miss teaching and kindergarten class everyday why don't you teach it virtually we can sing it now cuz you always say think like a problem solver heart South Pasadena that's where we are there no matter where we go into started on Earth and now I'd like to introduce mrs. Thompson our school counselor who will share with you some Wellness practices welcome road runners I'm so excited to be joining you for your first Friday assembly of the new school year I'm mrs. Thompson your school counselor as I know many of you already know but I do want to introduce myself again I'm expecting that we're going to have anime using and yes rather unique school year but it's going to be memorable and we're going to learn so much and yes there will be challenges but we can do it together I am hoping with all of our Monterey Hill students once a week and at the Friday assembly is a great opportunity to do that the counselor connection and today I want to focus on breathing now I'm pretty sure that many of you remember from your mindfulness training and classes that breathing is the most powerful heart staying calm being hopeful and being healthy and healthy so we really want to be conscious of our breathing and we want to practice different ways to do it today I want to take you through what's called peace breath he's breath all right so let's sit straight and if you're standing that's okay but just raise your body straight as if somebody is pulling a string from top of your head and now I want you to close your eyes and breathe in slowly and exhale slowly so inhale exhale time you inhale thinking about peace and love chilling your heart and exhale and say silently to yourself the word inhale chilling your heart with love and peace exhale saying the word silently cheers and ask that peace and love feel your heart to overflowing now you're going to realize that it's time peace and love everyone around you your classmates your teachers and other staff at MHS your community if we can fill our hearts with overflowing peace and love and share it with the community can we make ourselves and others stronger and better one more time open your eye have a peaceful and exhilarating Friday welcome and welcome our wonderful Monterey Hills teachers I'd like to spend some time introducing them and they will introduce themselves intern first of all our TK teacher an essay on welcome Road I miss his limbs so excited to be back this year an hour tkk teacher morning hello I'm mister I'm so excited to start this year with you it's going to be fans and now our kindergarten teachers hi I'm mrs. Landau and I am so excited and looking forward to meeting I can't wait hola bien venido a la Escuela yo soy La Maestra Marine hi everyone this is Miss Torres so excited to be here with you I'm sending you all a big virtual hug love you guys hey guys I'm assuming I'm so excited to meet all of you spend time with you is going to be a great year thank u t knkt and now our first grade team of teachers welcome back tie I misses Kang I'm excited to start school year with you guys let me know if I can get out of your system it's misspelling ski I can't wait to meet all of you thank you for scrape and let's welcome our second grade teacher my name is Miss Isabella welcome to 2nd grade see you soon hi my name is Miss Alice can't wait to see everybody in class I'm mrs. Owens welcome back to everyone looking forward to seeing you yes I stupid and now our second grade and third grade teacher I am mrs. Hooper and I'm so excited for the school year to start and now our third grade teachers hey it's me I miss is Trachtenberg welcome to third grade can't wait to see you thank you second and third grade teachers an hour fourth grade teachers hi this is mrs. Bishop before teacher that welcomes students thank you high I'm Lori Zachary welcome everybody and I'm ready to make history with my students hi my name is Sandra Salazar and go by myself Moline High School and thank you everybody and now with our third fourth and fifth grade teacher welcome back are 4th 5th grade teacher hi welcome back to another great year. are fifth grade teachers greetings this is Ann Freitas hi this is mrs. Patty hola soy La Maestra Howard Stern Nuevo ano escolar hi I'm 16 lower everybody this is Mr Millar announce some of our support staff my students this is turn so glad to see you were going to have a great year hi everyone this is mrs. Thompson I'm excited for a interesting and unique school year hello everyone this Mister Brian could see you add to close it out Mr Man o d Road Runners welcome back to another exciting year at Monterey Hills mister man on the theater teacher Stacy be on time to school I will see you soon. Everybody will see you later and now I'd like to introduce to you our specialist at Monterey Hills I welcome back Monterey Hills Road Runners I miss hyndman your occupational therapist I'm looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces in this new school year so let's get it off to a great start hi I'm mrs. terroni the speech pathologist over at Monterey Hills and I really look forward to this year and seeing you all again message Annie school psychologist and I am really excited to see you I missed you all I hope you had a wonderful summer and I hope that this year is going to be our best year ever thank you everybody and now I'd like to introduce our team front office staff welcome Roche Brothers hi my name is Julie Castillo Kennedy and I am the secretary Monterey Hills did you need anything regarding our school please don't hesitate to call thank you and have a great year hi my name is Tatiana Gaspar I'm new to this work as well as the registrar if you have any questions regarding that just give me a call hi I'm Mary McEvoy I'm the health clerk at Monterey to welcome back if you have any questions you're welcome to contact me email me medical questions or anything about immunizations I'm here to help thank you to introduce to you our custodial staff hello every find my name is Sandra custodial school to pleasure to wish everyone back to school and I just want to let everyone know if you guys need help for catfish feel free to let me know thank you and finally I'd like to introduce to you our metformin hey guys how you doing I'm not and izumo to plant Foreman here at Monterey Hills welcome back let's have a great year and don't forget to clean your room thank you thank you teachers and staff Monterey Hill school for all the hard work you do on a daily basis and for making sure that our school is exceptional and Blue Ribbon worthy and to use students and family members for all the hot work and support that you offer what clothes at the assembly today with one of my favorite songs Lean On Me by Bill Withers I love this song because it speaks to the importance of family friends and community I found this version and was happy to see people from all over the world joining them to bring this song to you in the lower left-hand corner of the screen you'll see how many different parts of the world are represented it's fun to see many of the people who are singing are coming right here from California so enjoy and have a great weekend MHS roadrunners will see you next week I'll help in wall paint I have brother guinea pig give me the map a blue in Patchogue how old is Monica we all know price of the movie right up the road karaoke Gary Oldman
