MHS PTA Executive Board:  2025-2026

A Message from our PTA President

Hello MHS families !

What an exciting time to soon welcome returning Roadrunners along with new Roadrunners to Monterey Hills!

If we have not yet met, my name is Janice and I am a third year parent at MHS with a child entering 5th grade and one in Middle School. It's nice to meet you! 👋 Being a PTA volunteer has helped me see the meaningful role the PTA plays in providing a platform to bettering our children's lives and I'd like to share why the PTA is important for MHS.  On local, state, and national levels, PTAs advocate for quality education, child safety, and school funding. PTA helps facilitate communication and collaboration between parents and the school, leading to better understanding of expectations, needs and school policies. MHS PTA values community building with fun parent socials and family events throughout the year that are well attended!  This all moves us toward the goal of building a strong and supportive environment for our kids.

A few things to know:

  • Your $8 PTA annual membership gives you voting rights and a voice in shaping decisions.  Membership is on an individual basis, with one vote counting for one member. Students and extended family are welcome to join as well.  Becoming a member is a way to show support and does not sign you up to volunteer, attend meetings or donate-unless you want to. The more members we have, the stronger our impact. Please join the PTA!

  • Our Roadrunner Fund, supported by two major fundraisers (Fall & Spring) that bring money directly into our children's classrooms with supplies and educational subscriptions, along with PE equipment, field trips, and so much more. Our goal is to raise $150,000 by asking for $250 per child.  We understand that every family’s situation is different—please give what you can. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a meaningful impact.

  • PTA is entirely volunteer run. MHS PTA helps raise funds that support the school and also organizes on-campus events that promote cultural awareness, inclusivity and acceptance, positive mental health and making good choices, and more. We have a calendar of planned events, but need volunteers to bring them to life.  Please answer the call for volunteer help when you can!

Our Executive Board is made up of parents who care deeply about our kids and community. We are excited to serve as your 2025–26 Board and hope you’ll say hi when you see us and ask questions! Join a monthly parent coffee after drop-off or come to one of our off-campus events. We look forward to building a stronger MHS community with you!

Best,

Janice Chow-Ng
