South Pasadena Unified School District 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year is Dawn Tull, Monterey Hills Elementary School fourth/fifth grade teacher.
Principal Laurie Narro shared, “The amount of creativity exhibited by Mrs. Tull is extraordinary. It can be found in the classroom itself: student displays of social studies and art work; student designed club sign-ups; and to keep all the students centered, mindfulness activities each morning. It can be found in the types of lessons that she delivers: STEM projects; authentic PBL units; hands on science and Jeopardy. It can be found in the grouping she does for everything: interest; within and across grade level; with one’s seat partner, or, with someone clear across the room; by strength and also by need.”
Thank you to Ms. Tull for all her hard work, including 31 years of teaching experience and a commitment to the students of South Pasadena Unified.
