As I reflect on everything our community has accomplished together, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. This year's graduating fifth graders hold a truly special place in our hearts — they began their journey at MHS as kindergarteners navigating distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, and starting today they are rising sixth graders going into middle school! What a testament to their resilience!
This year, parent volunteer engagement reached new heights, bringing some truly special and vibrant energy to campus programs and events. We are also proud to celebrate an incredible level of PTA membership from our school families —and a knockout 100% participation from our teachers!
On the fundraising front, you delivered in a big way. Through the combined efforts of our Fall Roadrunner Fund Drive and Spring Jog-a-thon, we exceeded our $150,000 fundraising goal for the year!
In the near future, Roadrunners will enjoy a beautiful library mural, a gift from the Class of 2026, which will be painted by MHS parent Evah Fan. What a lasting legacy for our school.
Above all, I believe we achieved what we set out to do this year: build community and deepen connection. The relationships strengthened between MHS families, our teachers, administrators, and support staff are what make this school truly special. Spending my days on campus and witnessing students working hard, aiming high, and showing spontaneous acts of kindness and compassion, between children and with adults alike, has been a highlight of serving in this role. The empathy and hard work our Roadrunners are exemplifying now will take them a long way.
In my three years as MHS, I have seen every year get better than the last, and I have every confidence that next year will be truly wonderful, with an Executive Board of caring and dedicated individuals who will be serving. I cannot wait to see what lies ahead!
To every MHS parent who has given their time and talents in ways large and small to make our school a better place, we thank you. This community is the special place it is because of you.
As my son promotes to middle school and my daughter heads into high school, I look forward to continuing to see you all around the community for years to come. Thank you for an incredible year! HAGS (Have A Great Summer)!
Once a Roadrunner, always a Roadrunner!
Best,
Janice
