Fourth of July Parade - Dual Immersion - Looking for Parent/Team Leader(s)

Fourth of July Parade - Dual Immersion

We’re looking for a parent (or team!) to lead the annual MHS DI parade entry.

This year’s parade theme, “From Sea to Shining Sea: 250 Years of the American Spirit”, invites participants to celebrate the nation’s history, spirit, and enduring sense of community through creative decorations, patriotic displays, and music.  Groups may walk or ride in a decorated vehicle along the approximately 0.6-mile route

As the lead, you will need to complete the one-page registration form and agree to the parade guidelines by Thursday, May 28, 2026.  You will also come up with a theme for our entry and communicate it to participating families.  Decide if the group will carry signs, wear a themed outfit, carry a speaker with music, or other fun way to share who we are with the community! MHS has a banner for your group to carry down the parade route. Registration forms and guidelines are available at: www.southpasadenaca.gov/events

A virtual pre-parade meeting for participating organizations will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Additional meeting details will be provided to registered participants in advance.

On the day-of the parade, you will coordinate the group to arrive no later than 9:30 a.m. Opening Ceremonies will take place at 10:00 a.m. outside the Library Community Room on El Centro Ave. The parade starts at 11 a.m. from Diamond Ave & Mission Street.  The parade ends at Garfield Park with a community party from 12-2 p.m. Our group usually disperses at the park, but you’re welcome to host a group event.  Leader’s choice!
